EXCERPT FROM THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER, September
15th, 1994:
"As awful as the baseball strike has been for all America, the man
most affected by the absence of Major League play is clearly Ty Powell,
considered by all who know him and anyone who's ever heard about him to
be "The Most Avid Sports Fan Alive". Powell's passion is devoted
to the teams of Cleveland, Ohio (Indians, Browns and Cavs most particularly).
Here's what Ty Powell has to say on the subject of the strike: "They're
breaking my heart! The best team the Indians have had in 40 years, and
there's not gonna be any post-season! Just pay 'em whatever they want and
get 'em back on the field."
